With our modular sensor platform, we were able to test our water level sensors in the district of Melk in the municipality of Hürm in a real environment.
There are several smaller feeder streams in the municipal area that normally do not pose a problem for the population. However, in case of strong local storms, even these small streams can become a big problem. In order to be warned in time, our low-cost sensors are used.
Sensors are mounted under bridges at three locations and connected to each other by using a LoRaWan network. Thanks to the radio technology used, the sensors work excellently regardless of the geographical distance among them.
Data points which contain temperature and humidity values in addition to the water level measurement are recorded every 30 minutes.
The visualisation takes place in a separate online dashboard, which has been made available to the municipality.
